Apple Spotted Driving In India For Look Around

Today an Apple Look Around car was spotted near Hyderabad, India. Here is a picture of the car driving in Khajaguda, west of the city:

It seems that Apple partnered with Tech Mahindra, like Google did for legal reasons as recording must be done by local companies. The name of the company is clearly visible next to the Apple logo and website:

However, unlike Google, the setup is a regular Apple Maps car with an official high quality camera. This proves a foreign company can operate in India using their own hardware. Google has no excuse for using low quality third-party cameras instead of their own gen 4 cameras. Maybe this new competition will bring actual Google Street View in the country.

It is unknown if Apple will release the imagery, and when it will be available. Currently the state of Telangana is planned according to the schedule on the Apple Maps official website.
