Discover what happened in Google Street View last week (19 - 25 December 2022)

Main Events

  • December 2022 coverage is now available in Australia, India, Japan, Portugal and Taiwan. November 2022 coverage is now available in Bangladesh and New Zealand.
  • No update happened on the list of future coverage this week.

Continuous Updates

Last week updates were found in 25 countries.

In Bangladesh a new extension started around the town of Cumilla. More coverage was also published near Chattogram.

Croatia got a lot of new coverage published, especially in the north. This may be part of the major updated that happened recently, or a sign that continuous updates are enabled in this country. Most of th new coverage is from late 2022. In the south a few roads were also added.

In Nigeria more gen 4 coverage was published in the states of Akwa Ibom, Benue, Cross River and Enugu. Notably, an interesting addition was made southwest of Calabar, allowing a first sight of Cameroon on Street View across the river that makes the border.

In the Philippines the first gen 4 coverage was published on the island of Palawan, and in Brazil the state of Amapá received its first update since 2012, which is also the first time gen 4 imagery is published there. It is mostly updates of existing coverage but next week new additions will start to appear.

And as usual many other smaller additions and regular updates in many countries:

Google Car Spotting

Last week Google Street View cameras were reported 25 times by people from 9 different countries.

Not a lot of spotting this week, which is normal in winter. However cars were spotted 7 times in Bangladesh, showing the cars are really back in full force in this country.
