4th major list update: Google confirms coverage in Kuwait and several other countries

A new country has just been confirmed, along with several major regional updates

Since last year, Google has occasionally released major list updates, which often confirm where Google plans to update Street View next—whether in new countries, new areas, or places receiving their first Gen 4 coverage. These updates have become more frequent in recent months, reflecting a broader ramp-up in Street View activity, especially in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Today, Google rolled out its weekly list update, and it’s a major one. In the fourth major list update, Google has confirmed coverage in Kuwait, a new country, along with adding countries with smallcam updates on the list, such as the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia which will be getting their first Gen 4, and Bosnia and Herzegovina which will be receiving its first coverage. Additionally, Georgia (a new country) Turkey, Kenya, Ecuador, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Malaysia, with all of them being included on the official published list!

🇰🇼 Kuwait

Kuwait has officially been confirmed to be receiving coverage, after being speculated on since 2023, as it was mentioned in a job offer along with Oman, which released soon after, although Kuwait took a significant amount of time, and has only been confirmed to be driving now, after a wait of two years, being another gulf country to receive Gen 4, after Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Currently, coverage is listed for July to October 2025 and is primarily in the Kuwait City area, and excludes other cities, such as Al Jahra and Al Ahmadi, though we could see these cities added to a future list update. It is also expected to be smallcam coverage, based on the other countries listed.

This update could be a good sign for future updates, as it was previously assumed that Kuwait coverage had been cancelled, which could potentially mean that we could see further expansions in the Gulf region, such as Saudi Arabia.

🇩🇴 Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has been re-added to the list after being added and removed from the list. Recently, Smallcam vehicles have been spotted in the capital, Santo Domingo which would make the second Caribbean region to receive Street View, after Puerto Rico. This also potentially confirms coverage in Bolivia, as it was also assumed to have been deleted, and this could change.

Currently, the coverage has been listed for July to September of this year and consists of Santo Domingo and surrounding towns and areas. You can learn more about this country’s coverage here.

🇺🇾 Uruguay

Uruguay, which is currently using a blend of Smallcam and Gen 4 trekker cameras has recently been updated to include several towns in the Eastern parts of the country, in the departments of Rocha and Maldonado, which potentially means that these departments are being covered by Smallcam, as reflected by the other additions on the list.

Currently, these regions are expected to be driven from July to September of this year, similar to other listed countries. You can learn more about this country’s coverage here.

🇷🇸 Serbia

Serbia has been re-added to the list after a hiatus caused by instability in the country, and the addition of Smallcam pickups in the country, potentially replacing pickups using Gen 4 trekkers. The towns added so far are primarily in the center, with some towns in the north, in Vojvodina and the south have also been added.

The listed dates for Serbia range from July to September of this year, and its also known that Serbia had started driving before that, as seen with a spotting from May. You can learn more about this country’s coverage here.

🇲🇪 Montenegro

Montenegro was originally confirmed via a press release from earlier this year. You can learn more about this press release here. With this update, we can potentially confirm that Montenegro will be driven with smallcam, as seen with its neighbors, and coverage is listed across the country. Montenegro is planned to be covered from July to September of this year.

🇲🇰 North Macedonia

Similar to Montenegro, North Macedonia was originally confirmed via a press release from earlier this year. You can learn more about this press release here. With this update, we can potentially confirm that North Macedonia will be driven with smallcam, as seen with its neighbors, and coverage is listed across the country. North Macedonia is planned to be covered from July to September of this year.

🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina was originally added to the list in early 2024, and was later removed after the completion of Gen 4 coverage in the country. Recently, with smallcam cars being back in the country, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been re-added to the list, with coverage being spread across the country, except for a couple towns in the west and east of the country. Interestingly, coverage in Bosnia and Herzegovina is only dated for July and August of this year, being considerably shorter than other entries on the list. You can learn more about this country’s coverage here.

🇬🇪 Georgia

After initially being announced in March, Georgia was interestingly not listed, but has now been added to the list, with several towns across the country being added, excluding the coast. Currently, Georgia has been listed from July to September of this year. You can learn more about this country’s coverage here.

🇹🇷 Türkiye

Türkiye has had a minor list update, with a couple of additions in the west and the north, near the Black Sea, interestingly excluding large cities in the area. This coverage is planned to be covered from July till September of this year.

🇰🇪 Kenya

Kenya has a few new entries scattered across the country, primarily in the west, center and coast of the country. This coverage is planned to be covered from July until August of this year.

🇪🇨 Ecuador

Several towns in Ecuador have been added, primarily in the center, near Ambato and near the coast, near La Libertad. This coverage’s dates range from June to August, which is substantially earlier than the rest of the countries listed.

🇧🇩 Bangladesh

Bangladesh, which has recently been updated for the first time since 2024, has also been mentioned in the list. Like other countries on the list, it is also listed for July to September of 2025 and the towns listed are primarily in the south and center of the country.

🇲🇾 Malaysia

A couple towns in the states of Johor, Malacca and Pahang were added in Peninsular Malaysia. Interestingly, Borneo was not updated despite major updates in that region. Currently, Malaysia has been listed from July to September of this year.

🇻🇳 🇨🇷 Others

Vietnam was also expanded on the list, although the towns and regions mentioned have already been released, with coverage being planned from July to September of this year.

The list for Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia received minor updates, with several entries in Malaysia, Bangladesh, Türkiye and Kenya being removed.

Interestingly, Costa Rica was removed from the list, potentially meaning that a coverage release could be expected soon, as coverage has been completed.

With these list updates, it seems Google is focusing a lot more in expanding Street View to new countries, and updating previous ones at the same time rapidly, more than we previously assumed. Hopefully we’ll see more updates like this from Google in the future, and especially hope that we’ll get Gen 4 from all these countries, as some have yet to be confirmed.

If you’re curious on how to access this information, visit Google Street View’s Driving List page and review their list. Alternatively, you can find additional details in this commit from our tracker’s GitHub repository.
