Recently, Google has been outsourcing Street View jobs to several companies, and recently some very interesting job offers from the past few months have appeared. These include two countries getting their first update in almost a decade, the Malaysian state of Sarawak getting its first Gen 4 coverage, along with it being the first Gen 4 on Malaysian Borneo, and several new Gen 4 Trekker jobs across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Most of these jobs come from JSAN Consulting Group.
๐ท๐ธ Serbia and ๐ฆ๐ฑ Albania

Recently, Google announced throughout a press release, that the country of Serbia will receive new Google Street View coverage. This summer, Google is planning to cover Belgrade, southern Baฤka, Niลกava, Raลกki, Sremski, ล umadija, and many other districts. This will be the first new coverage in the country since July 2015, and we’ve recently got job offers for this coverage, along with another country which we didn’t know, but was expected to be updated: Albania! From what we know, they’ve been doing job offers for the past 3 weeks, and both countries receiving their first coverage in nearly a decade (Serbia last updated in 2015, Albania last updated in 2016) was quite a shock. Coverage in Serbia will start in Belgrade and Coverage in Albania will start in Tirana, the capitals of both countries, and will later expand to the rest of both countries. Currently, we don’t know much about how long Serbia will be covered for, but Albania will last four months. Both of these countries receiving updates comes after Bosnia and Herzegovina receives its first coverage in Gen 4, which makes it likely that we’ll see Gen 4 in both of these countries. Currently, Bosnia and Herzegovina will take six months to complete, while Albania will take four months to complete. Albania is only half the size of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so it’s likely we’ll see dense coverage similar to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will have full coverage, except for unpaved/macadam roads. Coverage will start for both countries in mid-August, either August 8 or August 12.

๐ฒ๐พ Sarawak, Malaysia
Along with the news of Albania and Serbia, we also learned about a major update with Google Street View in Malaysia: Malaysian Borneo will get Gen 4! Recently, job offers from Kuching, the capital of the State of Sarawak, on the western half of Malaysian Borneo were discovered. This part of Malaysia, which comprises 60% of the country’s area, was last updated in 2019, but with Gen 3 coverage. We can expect this coverage to last three months, and it will probably expand to Sabah. We know this project started a month ago, so we can expect it to release soon.
Gen 4 Trekkers
Recently, several Gen 4 Trekker job offers have appeared, in 22 countries in the Americas, Asia and Europe. Several of these countries currently don’t have Gen 4 Trekker coverage, and are indicated a such with “New“. All of these Trekkers are from the last four months, and most of them have already started work and are expected to be released soon.

While all of these job offers are very interesting, a sad possibility is that it could still be Badcam. This company also works for TechMahindra, which is responsible for most Badcam coverage, including it’s usage in India, and several Badcam drivers have been working with JSAN. Although, from researching past posts, it’s still quite likely that we’ll receive Gen 4.
