New country: Afghanistan
This week Google added the first official Street View imagery in Afghanistan. Part of the Google Arts & Culture collection, this coverage made in 2018 offers some views of a small area in Kabul. It includes indoor views along with some small pedestrian streets around and even rooftop views.

This coverage was made using a regular camera mounted on a tripod, a common way to take imagery in small places like this. The new coverage in Mali released earlier this year is another example of tripod coverage. This was made in collaboration with the Turquoise Mountain Foundation which took the pictures for Google. All the different views can be found on the Google Arts & Culture website.
Continuous Updates
Last week updates were found in 31 countries.
In the north of Argentina Google drove its car on the RN40 again, which filled many gaps. The border town of Salvador Mazza was also added.

In Brazil the new coverage that is being progressively released in the past weeks increased a lot. The BR-163 is now mostly complete and many roads in Mato Grosso and Rondônia states got more coverage.

In Canada, the Northwest Territories got what should be the latest part of this year’s update with the addition of Fort Simpson. No signs indicate that the car drove up to Yellowknife or Hay River.

In the south of the Philippines, many roads are now fully covered.

In Slovenia and Croatia some areas received a decent amount of new coverage.

In South Africa, many new roads were added in the east. Most notably, the area south of Mozambique and east of eSwatini got its first update since 2010 along with new roads. In the north a couple of roads were also fully added.

The Spanish island of Fuertevntura, one of the Canary Islands, got some nice additions such as a volcanic route in the south. Other islands nearby also got updates.

Sweden got some new roads in the county of Västernorrland.

In Turkey new coverage also kept progressing in many areas, with a focus in the south…

…and the west as well:

And as usual many other smaller additions and regular updates in many countries:
