Main Events
- March 2023 coverage is now available in Belgium
- An update happened on the list of future coverage this week:
- Japan: the following prefectures were updated for 2023: Aichi, Akita, Aomori, Chiba, Ehime, Fukui, Fukuoka, Fukushima, Gifu, Gunma, Hiroshima, Hokkaido, Hyogo, Ibaraki, Iwate, Kanagawa, Kagawa, Kagoshima, Kochi, Kumamoto, Kyoto, Mie, Miyagi, Miyazaki, Nagano, Nara, Niigata, Oita, Osaka, Okayama, Okinawa, Saitama, Shiga, Shimane, Shizuoka, Tochigi, Tottori, Tokyo, Wakayama, Yamagato, Yamanashi.
- Philippines: Metro Manila was added back but it is an old entry from 2020-2021.
- Taiwan: entries were updated with various district changes.
- Hong Kong and Singapore were updated for updates between February and December 2023.
- Indonesia was updated for updates between February and September 2023.
- One of the entries for Bangkok in Thailand was removed, and Phetchaburi, Udon thani, Chachoengsao and Khon Kaen were added for 2023.
Note: the website was updated with a new design, and the list is now broken. The data is loaded from a wrong file, making the list being not updated anymore. The dates are also wrong as a very basic code error was made. Consequently January is displayed as 0 instead of 01 and December as 11 instead of 12. To get the correct date simply add 1 to the month’s numbers. There are many other mistakes done in this page, such as an unrelated image used to illustrate the image processing and showing the navigation functionality instead, or requiring users to do many additional clicks to show less data at once in the list, making it way less readable. This shows really well how poorly Google manages this website and the associated list.
New Coverage
This week had no major addition and very few minor additions. The most interesting ones are in Croatia but it is mostly data from the previous years being published after map updates. Other than that, a few small roads were added in a few usual countries such as Brazil and the United States.
Imagery Update
Last week updates were found in 9 countries. Not a lot of updates, but Belgium started getting its first 2023 imagery.

Google apparently still drives in Kenya with the pickup being seen in Mombasa. Israel and Panama are still being imaged as well.
